My cats LOVE this toy. But in the span of 2 days, I had to return 3 of them because they kept breaking. This product is a total piece of junk. But there is hope!

Solution: Buy a child’s fishing reel – those plastic ones with characters on them (maybe 10 bucks, max) and the replacement Catfisher Lures, or any sort of catnip mouse. Attach catnip mouse to child’s fishing reel, and enjoy. Our Finding Nemo children’s reel has lasted over a year, and we have to hide it when we aren’t playing!

I only spent $10 on this at my local Pet Expo, and it wasn’t even worth that. My cats got to play with it for about 10 minutes, then the line tangled up, snapped, and now I can’t get it back together. Definitely not worth more than maybe $3.00. The saddest part is that your animal will LOVE it, and then sit next to you on the couch watching you try to fix it for 2 hours. Do NOT buy this product, get a children’s pole instead and just tie a toy to the end.

This is a great cat toy, but there is a design flaw. When reeling the mouse back in, the line can very easily get tangled inside the handle or completely miss the reel. However, there is a secret to using it successfully. The only thing you have to do is hold the line at the opening of the cat’s mouth as you reel in the lure; just let the line go between your fingere gently pressed together. That way the line is not curled as it enters the handle, which is what causes the problem. My cat got this from Santa Claus several years ago, and it is till going strong. GOOD LUCK!
